Woohoo! We’ve made it to June and the final month of our Spring 2021 session! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for riding the wave with us through another year that has continued to have it’s ups and downs due to COVID-19. We are so, SO grateful to be finishing this season in the Low Risk category and have a lot of exciting things coming up to finish out this year! Please read through all of the information below so you don’t miss out on any vital information!
June Tuition is Due!
Please submit your June tuition through our customer portal HERE and be sure you don’t have any outstanding fees on your account as we conclude this dance season – thank you!
Attendance is VITAL
Since we only have 3 weeks of classes before our end of the year performances, it is VITAL that your dancer attends all of their classes. There is a lot of polishing and training done in these final weeks that really add up to a well done performance, so please make sure your dancer doesn’t miss a class!
IN-STUDIO PHOTO SHOOT
The week of Monday, June 7th through Friday, June 11th we will be having an in-studio photo shoot during classes. Our incredible photographer, Grace Pulver, will be set up in Studio B and dancers will take turns during their normal class time for group and individual photos. Dancers will need to have their costume, all costume pieces, appropriate dance shoes, along with hair and makeup done when they arrive for class. For dancers over age 5, we will not be having any parents in the facility. For dancers in our 3-5 year old classes, they are allowed 1 parent in the facility to assist them. Once dancers have taken their photos, the remainder of class time will be spent rehearsing their dance number (a pre-dress rehearsal) and practicing for our stage bows! Emails to be watching for: costume, hair and makeup details by age group and a gallery link so you can view and order photos!
RECITAL DRESS REHEARSAL: FRIDAY, JUNE 18TH (Updated Schedule)
Our dress rehearsal will be held Friday, June 18th in the Sisters High School auditorium. I have recently updated the rehearsal schedule due to some scheduling conflicts that have come up with our staff. Please view the updated rehearsal schedule HERE. Dancers should come in their first costume with hair and makeup done. More information will be sent soon with details on the rehearsal process.
SPRING PERFORMANCES: JUNE 18TH & 19TH, TICKETS GO ON SALE JUNE 7TH!
Our spring performances will be held on June 18th and 19th in the Sisters High School auditorium. There will be 4 shows (Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 1 pm, 4 pm, and 7 pm), but not all dancers will be performing in all 4 shows. If your child is in more than one class we will be sending you specific information on the best shows for you to attend so you can see all of their dances. Once the link for the ticket sales is live we will send you that information and ALL TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE prior to the performances due to limited audience capacity. The theme this year is EXTRA! EXTRA! DANCE ALL ABOUT IT! More information regarding the performance process will be sent in a separate email soon.
PROPS NEEDED FOR THE JUNE PERFORMANCES
For a few of our dance numbers we are looking for the following props:
For Pointe: 5 Black Folding Chairs
For Miss Ashley’s Dance about the progression of technology she’d like “old, don’t really need anymore items”: large headphones (2 pairs), ipad/tablets (2), boombox, rotary phone, old computer, big flip phone, record player, A-track player. Let me know if you have any of these items we could borrow!
SUMMER DANCE CAMPS & CLASSESDuring summer break, The Sisters Dance Academy offers incredible dance camps and classes. Enrollment for our summer program opens Sunday, June 6th! You can enroll through our website at www.danceinsisters.com.
